Thain Cottage and Pendeilo Farm are quite near to one another. Both are still standing (2007).

Much appreciated are the following observations about some of the information contained in the biographies of John and Margaret. They come from Joy Cozens (Joycozens@aol.com):

1. Margaret's middle name "Roach" should be spelled "Roch".
2. Her place of baptism was at St. Mary's, Tenby, in the diocese of St. Davids.
3. Queen Victoria did not visit Tenby in 1844, so the incident described could not have happened. It is doubtful that Margaret would have been sent away to school, as girls received little education apart from Church schools. And since her father's occupation was that of carpenter he could not have afforded such an education for his daughter.
4. John Teague Thain was baptized at Amroth Parish Church, in the diocese of St. Davids.
5. John and Margaret married at the Pembroke Registry Office and not at the church in Amroth.
