Mary Mathews Jones buried her husband and four young children in Wales, and within six years after arriving in Utah her two daughters Elvira Dix and Mary Ann Perkins died. They both died in 1887 from complications after childbirth. Mary Mathews Jones outlived her husband and all her children.
