Elizabeth may have been born in Ferryside, Carmarthenshire, Wales.

According to her obituary, Elizabeth immigrated in 1849 and remained at Council Bluffs for two years. There she married Rees Jones Williams, and then continued to and arrived in Utah in 1852.
