Thomas Pierce Sr. Family

Thomas Pierce Sr. was born June 27, 1849, in South Wales. He
came to America,
with his mother and three sisters, when he was in his teens, and settled in Willard,
Utah. He worked for John Edwards, who had a
cattle ranch at Promontory and was married to his sister Margaret Pierce.
Thomas was present at Promontory Point when the Golden Spike
was driven. He married Nettie Morgan, also from Wales,
and they lived in Willard and had two boys, William and Thomas. When Thomas was
six weeks old, they moved to Malad, December 1882,
and homesteaded in St. John. They
had six more children.
Thomas Pierce Jr. married Ellen (Nell) James, they had four
children. James D. Pierce, their oldest son, married Marguerite Wood Merrill.
They had three daughters: Sandra, Diane, and Joann. Jim and Marguerite are now
living in Orem, Utah.
Joann passed away shortly after birth. Sandra married Jerry H. Jones. They have
two sons, Derk and Todd. Jerry, Sandra and Derk are living in Malad. Todd
lives in Evanston, Wyoming.
Diane married George R. Bowen. They have four children: Jim, Kris, John and
Jamie. They all live in the Ogden Valley
area. John is in Scotland
on a mission at the present.
