Tonight Sunday 19 we held a District Counsil at Lampeter. I Vissited the Saints In Different places during the following week. Sunday 26 I was at Carmarthen at the 6 o’clock Meeting and preached there. Monday 27 I went to Meet Br D. M Davis to Vangalch and returned to Carmarthen. Tuesday 28 I went Down to Whit Lane to See Br Rees Isaac and his family and Stayed there that Night. Wednesday 29 I went to See Sister Anne Morgans who lived at St Clears. I Slept at a house in the Village

and had Supper and breakfast at Sister Morgans’s house She was a young woman who was not verry healthy. She loved the Gospel. She Gave me two Shillings to put in the Mission fund. Thursday 30 I went back to Carmarthen. Friday 31 Verry wet. Stayed at Carmarthen. Saturday Febry 1st I went towards Abergwyli. I met Henry Thomas Esgerydd going home in an empty cart. I accompyned him home and Stayed there over Sunday 2. Monday 3

I went to Br Evan Morgans house Llawrbarth. Tuesday 4 I went to Clwtyffwrn and went to See Br David James who had been verry poorley for a Long time. I Slept tonight at Br Thomas Evans house but before I got up Br David James had died. He talked to me pretty well the night before. Wednesday 5, I went to TynyCwm and Stayed tonight at a Mill house. Next Morning I had Some breakfast at Br Thomas Davis house mill. They were not [illegible]. Thursday 6, I went to Br John Evans.

Friday 7, I Came back to Clwtyffwrn. It is coustomary In this Countrey Wales to hold A Meeting in the house of the Dead person on the Night previous to the burial which meeting is Called “wylnos” which by Translating Means Watchnight. So I attended that after Singing and Some two or three prayed. I Got up and preached to them and told them the Nesessity to be prepared to Meet a similer doom as our brother who laid before us in his Coffin. Slept tonight at Br Thomas

Evans house. Saturday 8 A good Lot of people assembled to witness the funeral about eleven oclock we held a Meeting at the deseased’s house. The[re] were present besides Myself Elders John Evans Penywern president of that Branch and Thomas Evans Clwtyffwrn and Thos Evans the poorhouse. a hymn was sung. Then I prayed. Another hymn was sung after which I Called their attention to the Nesessity of obtaining eternal Life. I took the following verse as a Kind of text. [Biblical verse translated from Welsh] And this is life eternal that they might know thee the only true God

and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. John 17:3.

I remarked that before anyone could know the true and Living God the Son must reveil him unto them. They Say there is no revelation to be had now. Conciquentley they know not God and before the Lord can reveil him they must know the Lord. And the Scriptures Says that nobody Cay [can] Say the Lord Jesus but through the Holy Ghost. And insomuch that they deny that, the Holy Gohst [sic] is not to be had now as ancientley. I Shewed them that they must [?]

be without Knowledge of the true and Living God and Jesus Christ whom he has Sent and as a natural conciquense be destitute of Eternal Life. I preached the fundimentel principels of the Gospel to them: faith in the Lord Jesus Christ Repentance and Baptism for the remission of Sins and the Laying on of hands for the reception of the Holy Ghost. Elder John Evans Penywern also bore a Strong testimony to the Divine Authority of the Mission of Joseph Smith the Prophet. After that the Corps[e] was

took to Llanwenog church Yard and was buried there In the Evening I went to Lampeter and Stayed at Evan Thomas’s house that Night. Sunday 9 I went Over the Mountain to Llanfer branch and held a Saints Meeting there. Monday 10 I went to Llandilo. Tuesday 11, I Called at Sister Jemima Davies Llandbie and went from there to Br Ed Jones’ house to Cwmaman about 5 or 6 Miles further. Stayed there tonight. Wednesday 12, I went to see Br Wm Jones to Cwm Glaw about

20 Miles off. Thursday 13, I went to Llydiardnenog and Stayed for the Night at Br Josiah Evans’s house. Friday 14 Stayed at Llydiardnenog. Saturday 15, I went to Llawrbarth and Slept tonight at Br Evans Morgans house. Sunday 16, I and Br Evan Morgans went to Pencader to a District Counsil Meeting. A good many of the Brethren and Sisters had Come together. We had a good Meeting. Monday 17, I went to Lampeter. Tuesday 18 Stayed there. Wednesday 19, I went that Evening to Br David Jones [illegible] house to Llanfair. I thought

of tsaying [staying] there for the night but when I went into the house the old woman looked rather black upon me and she went out. After that her daughter Came in, a big rough ignorant individual by the name of Anne Jones. I soon found that She was full of the devil. She asked me what I wanted there and told Me that nobody wanted to see me. I was next ordered out of the house. She seised a peice of wood and told me if I did not quit the house in a minite I should have that across my shoulders. I went out of the house and she followed me

with the intention of pelting me with Stones I believe that she tried to send the dog after me. He barked enough but would not follow after me. This Surcumstance caused Me to walk ten Miles in vain that night. I had to go back to Lampeter and Stayed that night at Evan Thomas house. I was Quite welcome there although he had not obeyed the gospel. He was a good Sort of a man. Thursday 20, I went to Clwtyffrwn and Slept there tonight at Br Thos Evans’s house. They were all verry kind to the Elders who

travelled to preach the Gospel. Friday 21, I went to day to Esgeryd. The wind was so Strong in the mountains that I had hard work to travell as I had to go against it. Saturday 22, I went to Carmarthen. Sunday 23, I Stayed there. We held a Saints Meeting 2 and another meeting at 6 in the evening. Monday 24, I went to Meet Br David M Davies to Vangalch and Stayed to night at Br Joseph Treharne house. Tuesday 25, I went to Hidrim. Wenesday 26, I went to Llanelly. Thursday 27 Stayed thare.

I vissited a Meeting to night at the saints Chapel. Friday 28 Stayed at Llanelly. Saturday MARCH 1st at Llanelly. Sunday 2 Vissited a Saints Meeting at 2 oclock. Adressed the Saints. Vissited another Meeting at 6 and preached there. Monday 3, Tuesday 4, and Wednesday 5 Stayed there. Thursday 6 Vissited a Meeting tonight. I and Br D. M. Davies adressed the Saints. Friday 7 Verry wet to day. I went to Br D M Davies house and employed most of the day in writing the accounts of Branches. Saturday 8 I went to Pontarddylas and took the train

to Llandbie. Sunday 9, I Vissited a Saints Meeting there we enjoyed a good portion of the Spirit of the Lord. In the Evening I went to Cwmaman and Stayed at Br Ed Jones house. Monday 10, I went to Br Jno [John] Evans house for Breakfast and from there to Llandbie. I had Some Dinner at Sister Jamima Davies house. I went to Llandilo that night and Slept at the Railway Inn. Tuesday 11 I went to Br James Jones, Blacksmith’s. Had Some dinner there and went that night to Br Wm Jones, Cwmglaw. Wednesday 12 I went to Br Jonah Evans

to Llawrbarth Br Evan Morgans house. It was a verry wet day. The rain caught me on the Mountain. There was no place to Shelter So I got wet to my skin. A District Counsil was to be held there today but it rained So heavy that it prevented anybody from attending it Except Br Jonah Evans Llydiardnenog and Myself. After I had Some dinner and the Loan of some dry Clothes we hedl [held] a Meeting. Monday 24 rain pouring. Stayed at Llawrbarth. Tuesday 25, I went to Clwtyffwrn and Slept at Br Thomas Evans house.

Wednesday 26 Br Thos Evans, poorhouse gave me sixpence in the evening. I went to Pencader and Slept tonight at Br David Stephens house. Thursday 27, I went to See Br David Evans Prybwll, Brybwll and was treated Kindley there. In the Evening I came back to Br Dd Stephens house and Stayed there for the Night. They were verry kind people. Friday 23, I went to Carmarthen. Saturday 29 Stayed there. Sunday 30 At Carmarthen. Vissited a Saints Meeting at 2 and another meeting at 6 in the Evening. Stayed at Br Thomas Morgans house. Tuesday April 1 very wet day. Stayed at Kydrim. Wednesday 2, I went to Llanelly. Thursday 3 at ______. Vissited a Saints Meeting tonight. Friday 4, I went to Swansea. Br Jeremy had Sent for me. After I entered his house he told me that he wanted for me to preside the Western Glamorgan Conference. He also gave me Some good counsels. Saturday 5, I went to Morriston to Br John Griffiths house president of the aforesaid Conference. I Slept tonight at Br Hopkin Jones house. Sunday 6 I went in Company with Br John Griffiths to

Ystalyfera by the train. A District Counsel was held here today. Br Griffiths and Myself adressed the Meeting a good feeling prevailed. Sunday Evening I went to Pontardawe with Br David Morgans. Held a Meeting there tonight. Monday 7, I Came back to Morriston. Tuesday 8 at Morriston. Vissited Several branches during the week. Sunday 13, I went to Neath. A general Counsil was held there to day. There were present David M Davies, Jno [John] Griffiths and a good number of the priesthood and Saints. Br Davies & Griffiths occupied most of the Counsil

at 2 pm a Saints Meeting was held. After Singing and praying I had the privilege of addressing the Brethren and Sisters in English. Monday 14 We held a preaching Meeting at 6 pm at Br Jenkin Williams house at Llansawel. I preached first and Br D. M. Davies after. I went back to Neath tonight and Slept at Br Benjamin Jones house president of that branch. Monday 14, I went to Pontardawe and had some food at Br David Morgans house. Stayed there tonight. Ystalyfera to borow four Sovereigns for President Thos E Jeremy and prospered. Wednesday 16, I was at Morriston and got up earley this morning. Br John Griffiths President of the Conference came to my bed room in Br Hopkin Jones’s house, took hold of my arm and in trying to pull me out of it for a lark pulled down bed and all which made no small noise and resulted in a good fit of Laughter all over the house. Sister Jones and the Children also got up and accompyned

us to Swansea to Catch the 6 a.m. Steam packet. Br Jno Griffiths his wife and five Children and 6 or 7 more went off the morning in the Said packed [packet] for Liverpool and Sailed from there for New York in a few days. Thursday 17 In the afternoon I went to Neath attended a Saints Meeting there tonight and Stayed at Br Benj Jones’s house. Thursday 17, I went to Aberavon to David Lewis’s house. He was not in the Church but his wife and some of the Children were. Nevertheless he was verry kind and favourable

to us. We Should hold Meetings as often as we liked there. Sister Lewis and the children who were algrown _____? up were Verry Kind to all our Elders and Myself not ____?xeccepted. I Stayed there tonight and Slept at the Ivorites hall. Had a verry Comfortable bed. Friday 18 Stayed at Aberavon. They were not willing for me to go away. Saturday 19, I went to Pyle. Stayed tonight at Br William Bowdens house and had plenty of food there. They were also verry Kind people. Sunday 20, I and Br Jenkin

Davis president of that branch and Br James Davies went to Abercynfig to Br _____ house ___ but Owning to the rain we were the Only ones that Came there. Conciquentley we held no Counsil. I had the Financial report of the branch. We held a Saints Meeting at 2 pm then we returned to Pyle and held another there at 6. A Collection was made for Brs Amasa M Lyman and Charles C Rich two of the Twelve. 3 [shillings] and 6 [pence] was Colected. Monday 21, I went through Bridgend to St Brides Major

to Br John Jones's house President of that branch. We held a Saints Meeting there tonight. After that I went with Br Jno Jones for some supper. He was a Tailor by trade and Kept a drapers Shop. He Measured me for a new suit of Clothes and I was to pay him by Instalments. I wanted them bad at the time for my Clothes were too Shabby to Stand before a Congration [congregation] of people on Sundays to preach. Tuesday 22, I came back by Pyle to Port Talbot. My train to Briton Ferry. I Stayed to night at Llansawel. Had Some Supper and breakfast at Br Jenkin Williams's house. Wednesday 23, I went by the train to Llansamlet and from there to Morriston. In the evening I went to Swansea and attended a Saints Meeting at the Saints Chapel, Orange Street. Afterwards I returned to Morriston at Slept at Br Hopkin Jones house president of that branch. They were a verry warm hearted people. Thursday 24 Stayed at Br Jones house. I planted a few potatoes

to day in his garden. Friday 25 I worked in Br Jones's garden all day. Planted a lot of potatoes and sowed some Leeks and Lettice. Saturday 26 I went to Neath by One o’clock. Had Some dinner at Br Benj Jones house. I went from there to Llansawel and had some food at Br Jenkin Williams house. They were a verry free people. In the evening I went to Aberavon. Slept at Ivorites hall. Sunday 27 we held a Saints Meeting at David Lewis's house. And a verry good meeting

it was. The Lord poured his Spirit upon us in its gifts and blessings and Caused our Saints to rejoice. We Confirmed two who were baptised during the week. After the meeting was over a Couple of Elders and Myself went out and preached in the open air. Another preaching Meeting was held at a ¼ to Seven at D Lewis house. Br Evan Jenkins president of the branch preached first in Welsh. After that I followed him in English. There were many English in that place. After our meeting was over

Wednesday 30, I went to Swansea and Slept tonight with Br Jeremy. Thursday May 1st I went back to Morriston upon Certain buisness. Friday 2, I went back to Swansea and digged up Br Jeremy's Garden. Stayed there tonight. Saturday 3, I planted some Cabbage and sowed different Seeds in Br Jeremy's garden. In the evening I went

Wednesday 7, I sent £ 2.5.0 ½ per post for President George Q Cannon to the Liverpool office. They were Book Money, Tithing, and Individual Deposits. In the evening I went by rail to Aberavon. Thursday 15, I went to Alltwen had Some food at Br David Morgans's then I went to Ystalyfera and from there to Ystradgyulas with Br Thomas Evans to See Br David Jones who had been laid up in bead for Some Months. He was Verry weak. He Said that he felt he was going to die but he was not afraid of leaving this world. He had repented of his Sins and had been Baptized in water for the remission of them and had been

Confirmed by the Laying on of hands By Men Holding the Priesthood and had lived for Years practising the precepts of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Conciquentley he felt ____ having a testimony within him that he was acceptable before God. We administered the ordinance of laying on of hands upon him. Then he Said he felt better. I felt that he was going a little while longer. I blessed [him] and went back with Br Evans and Slept at his house that

Night. Friday 16th I went to Neath. Stayed tonight at Br Benjamin Jones's house. Saturday 17, I went to Aberavon and was treated Kindley at Sister Lewis house. Stayed there tonight. Sunday 18 at Aberavon. I went in the Morning about four miles in the Countrey to preach. Br David Jones and Benj Jones Neath preached and I Myself after them. We came back to Aberavon against 2 oclock and held a Saints Meeting in

Sister Lewis's house. I and Br Hopkin Jones gave the Saints a few instructions. A verry good Influence prevailed. After the Meeting was over We went out on the side of a hill and held a preaching Meeting. A good Many people were present. Br Benjimin Jones Neath Preached first followed By Br Hopkin Jones Morriston. Afterwards I bore a short testimony to the restoration of the Gospel in English. We held another preaching Meeting at 7 o’clock at Br John Jones's

House. Br Wm Jenkins and Jenkin Williams preached. I said a few words at the Close of the meeting. Monday 19, I Vissited the Saints at Cwmbychan. Stayed tonight at Aberavon. Tuesday 20, I went to Neath and attended that branch prayer Meeting tonight. and Slept at Br Benj Jones's house. Wednesday 21, I went to Swansea and attended a Saints Meeting at the hall in orange Street. I had to Suspend one Sister there tonight after the Meeting was

Over. I went to President Jeremy's house and Slept with him tonight. Thursday 22, I went to Morriston and held a Saints Meeting there tonight. Friday 23 Stayed at Morriston. Saturday 24 at Morriston. It is here I Keep the Conference Account Books. Sunday 25 At Morriston. We held a Saints Meeting at 2 o’clock and it was a verry meeting. I recived a good portion of the Spirit of My Office and Calling. After the Meeting was over we went to a

small Village Near Swansea to preach in the open air. Br Wm John from Swansea and Myself preached. Some were Looking at us scornfully. Others laughing and making fun. Some few listened verry attentive. I felt after we left them as I allways do when I have the privillage of bearing My testimony that they were left without excuse. We then went to Swansea hall to the 6 oclock Meeting. Br Jeremy was there. After Singing and praying

I had the privillage of adressing the Meeting. I Called their attention to the nesessity of being faithfull after having a Knowledge of the Gospel for there were Some who were verry unfaithfull. Br Jeremy made Some importand remarks on the Same subject. After the Meeting was dismissed I went back to Morriston and Slept there tonight/ Monday 26, I went to Aberavon and Stayed there tonight. so wet Thomas Lewis Sister Lewis's Son Gave Me eight pence that I might go by the train. Conciquentley I went by the ½ past two train. I wanted to go there to day for the Months a/c and for St Brides Months a/c that I might have the Money due for Books to send to Liverpool. I Stayed at Pyle tonight. Wednesday 28 I came back through Aberavon to Neath and Stayed there for the night. Thursday 29, I went to Morriston. Friday 30, I went to Swansea

this Morning with £2.19.11 for Sister Elizabeth Bounsel being the Sum which She had in the P. E [Perpetual Emigration] Deposit fund. She was oblidged to withdraw then for She had been verry poor in health for a long time. I went to Pontardawe with the 5 pm train and had Some tea at Bro David Morgans house. I went that night [to] Ystalyfera and Slept at Bro Thomas Evans house. Saturday 31 I had my breakfast at Sister at [sic] Esther Williams house
