Mrs. Sarah Jones Williams

Mrs. Sarah Jones Williams, one of Malad valley's pioneers, was born at
Flintshire, North Wales, Nov. 2, 1847, the daughter of Richard P. and Eliza
Edwards Jones. She came to the United States with her parents in 1856 and the
family located in Provo, Utah in 1861, moving to Malad valley in 1876.
She was married to Thomas Lilly in 1876. He died about eight years later.
In 1886 she was married to Sam Murray who died a few years after.
She was married to David J. Williams in 1893. He died in 1926.
Mrs. Williams was a member of the Reorganized LDS church and took a very active
part in church affairs most of her life.
Mrs. Williams died Jan. 13, 1941, at the age of 93. She was active to the time
of her death. Mrs. Williams took a trip to Ogden the day before her death to
visit a brother, William R. Jones, who was then 83 years of age.
At the time of her death, she was survived by two sons, William Lilly and Fred
Murray, of Malad, one daughter, Mrs. Ella Thomas, of Malad, and one brother,
William R. Jones, of Ogden.
