After marrying SARAH, HENRY
moved to a homestead at Cuba,
near Sherman, Jackson County, West Virginia, and
was listed as a farmer there in the 1880 and 1900 censuses, although a 1900 Jackson County
publication mentioned that he "worked at coal mines in Ohio
even after moving to West Virginia." SARAH was the daughter of William
Stanley. The Stanleys
came to West Virginia from the Shenandoah
Valley in Virginia. HENRY was still living in the Sherman area in
1912. He died of pneumonia at his
home. HENRY and SARAH are buried in McPherson Cemetery, Jackson County, West Virginia.

1852, at the St. Tydfil's (parish church) burial ground. This was actually the second such site; the
original site at the church had been filled.
This was largely a result of the 1849 cholera epidemic.

Virginia, where JOSEPH operated a small coal mine and
a store. He finally moved to Portsmouth, Ohio
in 1899, where he worked for the Drew Shoe Company. He died at home following a bout with
