Williams Jones – Biography

The christening of Williams Jones on 20 April 1823 probably took place in the Parish Church in Llangendeirne, a small town about five miles to the southeast of Carmarthen. His parents John and Jane Treharne Jones were residents at that time of the Van farm in Llangendeirne. William’s father John, born in about 1797, was a farm laborer or possibly the tenant farmer of the Van farm. And his mother Jane, daughter of William and Jane Walter Treharne, was born 12 February 1801 at Llangendeirne. John and Jane were married on 12 November 1822 at the Llangendeirne Parish Church.
