Obituary of Thomas Griffiths
Springville Man Called by Death
SPRINGVILLE - Thomas Griffith, 60, vice president of the
Springville-Mapleton Fruit Growers' association, died Thursday at the family
home, 1123 East Second North street, from a heart attack.
Mr. Griffith was born in South Wales, May 6, 1881, a son of
Thomas and Alice Lloyd Griffith. He came to Utah in 1888, and lived in
Scofield, Castle Gate and Eureka, moving to Springville in 1910.
He married Sarah Ann Rolfe in 1904, in Eureka, and she died
in 1923. On Sept. 3, 1925, he married Annie Powell Jenkins.
He was a member of the Springville volunteer association and
the I. O. O. F. lodge.
Surviving are his wife, three sons and one daughter, as
follows: Thomas Griffith, Salt Lake City; Fred and Rolfe Griffith, Springville;
Mrs. Marie Wheeler, Los Angeles, and a step-son, R[] Jenkins, Washington, D.
C. [He] leaves 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p. m. in the []
chapel. Friends may [] family home prior to [].
